FEATI University Blue & Gold Fun Run an overwhelming success
FEATI University recently capped off a busy month with its first Blue & Gold Fun Run, an event that drew over 2,000 professional runners and health enthusiasts from all over Metro Manila last August 10, 2008. The successful event became the school’s commitment to the city’s health awareness campaign and was centered on raising awareness on the ill effects of obesity on society.
Before the event, FEATI held a symposium on overweight and obesity anchored by top medical professionals from various societies at FEATI’s Bridgepoint Bldg. last Aug 1, 2008. Over 300 students from FEATI University and neighboring schools got a glimpse on the effects of leading an unhealthy lifestyle in a well structured public symposium.
The actual race covered 3K, 5K, and 10K events and took participants from the Rajah Sulayman Park Manila to T.M. Kalaw. Runners from all walks of life, including families, truly had a fun-filled day racing through the streets of downtown Manila.
Aside from the usual festivities, the FEATI Blue & Gold Fun Run also featured up and coming musical acts like Talata and Myrus, who entertained the crowd before and after the event. Give-aways were also awarded to lucky contestants, including Ipod Nano, mobile phones from Globe Telecom, rice cookers from Silog Express, and gift packs from Nestle Nesvita as well as cash prizes for the eventual winners. Participants also got a treat from the event’s media partners Action and Fitness Magazine and Bounce Magazine, who provided complimentary copies to the winners.
